Conformal coating is a thin protective film applied to products to act as protection against moisture, dust, chemicals, thermal shocks and sunlight. If flash modules must withstand harsh environments, conformal coating becomes necessary in order to prevent damage or failure of the electronics and at the same time increases the lifecycle of the product.
Our conformal coating utilizes acrylic resin material, which can sustain -65°C to 125°C and it demonstrates excellent flexibility and electrical properties; it also fluoresces under UV light, which is easy for inspection and repairing.
By applying this REACH/RoHS certified coating onto Cervoz industrial flash and memory products would make them excellent computing storage solutions for automotive, marine, military, outdoor, industrial critical environment applications.
Anti-Vibration Fill – An effective option to protect your RAM module in the harsh environment.
In real-world industrial computing applications, more and smaller embedded devices are installed in harsh environments with constant shock or vibrations. The RAM modules inside these devices may be vulnerable to these impacts, causing poor contacts and connection.
Hence, Cervoz is now offering a value-added technology, Anti-Vibration Fill, to enhance the robustness of our DRAM modules. It is done by filling epoxy resin between the edges of PCB and RAM chips, therefore preventing the solder joints from coming loose.
Anti-Vibration Fill is now available for Cervoz Industrial RAM Module upon request.

Anti-Vibration Fill provides extra endurance for RAM modules installed in critical applications, such as in-vehicle computing, machine automation, military and so on.
Powerguard is a Power Loss Protection (PLP) technology developed by Cervoz. The Powerguard function provides additional power during an unexpected power outage to complete current flash write operation, moreover to protect firmware, mapping table integrity.
Cervoz designs the Powerguard flash modules with additional tantalum capacitors to store these extra charges. Take Cervoz Powerguard mSATA for example, the integrated tantalum capacitors are permanently charged with 12V and maintain the power as long as data saving of the mSATA is still in progress.
Cervoz Industrial Powerguard SSD includes capacities from 32GB~512GB and Powerguard mSATA embedded module from 16GB~64GB. It is suitable for critical industrial applications, such as factory automation, machine automation, networking, server/cloud, in-vehicle, medical and surveillance.

The purpose of designing an additional DRAM chip into the flash module is to increase both performance and endurance.
A DRAM chip in a flash module has exactly the same function as a cache in a hard disk. Whilst the flash module is in operation the controller throws small data into the DRAM chip for immediate responses; the DRAM chip acts as a directory that assists the controller to allocate data to the assigned positions. Therefore it shortens the response time and increases the performance.
Comparing Flash Storage to DRAM, DRAM does not have any limitation of program/erase cycles, whereas Flash Storage does. Every time when the controller tries to program a sector of data into Flash Storage, it needs to erase a whole block of Flash before re-programming it. However with the DRAM buffer small data can be collected to a certain amount before delivering to the Flash Storage which reduces the program/erase times to the flash chips, and therefore increases the endurance.
Cervoz Reliance Series utilizes our “Reliability Optimized-MLC (RO-MLC) Technology”. We adopt specialized firmware to control MLC NAND flash which only uses the strong pages of MLC NAND as storage; the technology is manipulated at the block level, and with each block’s capacity halved by treating it as SLC.
As a result, RO-MLC improves its performance by a substantial margin: Data retention is increased 5 times, and most importantly reliability is 10 times higher than conventional MLC NAND Flash. RO-MLC offers higher density solutions at lower costs compared to conventional SLC NAND Flash, and at the same time optimizing its reliability and performance.
Cervoz’ unique technology has made our Reliance Series (RO-MLC Technology) an extremely high price-performance ratio, and the price is only double than MLC. In return performance, data retention and reliability are more than double (SLC is typically around 4~6 times higher in price than MLC). Our Reliance Series is a perfect solution for semi-industrial & industrial applications that require moderate to high read and write cycles while also demanding cost effective solutions.

Cervoz® FlashMonitor is specialized flash disk monitoring software developed in-house dedicated to monitoring Cervoz’s disks‘ health.
Disk relevant information and health conditions can be checked and monitored in real time, preventing functional degradation and predicting disk lifespan.

Each product is tested and verified in burn-in chambers during the engineering verification stage ensuring absolute reliability and endurance in extended temperatures.
Cervoz wide temperature flash modules support operating temperatures from -40˚C~85˚C; and wide temperature DRAM modules support operating temperatures from -40˚C~95˚C which are capable to work perfectly within extreme environmental conditions. Our solution can operate in thermal shocks and thermal cycles, which makes the products exceptionally durable for harsh environments. In addition, our wide temperature products offer outstanding performance and low power consumption.

DRAM module voltage refers to the power consumed by a DRAM module. In the past, most DDR3 memory had a voltage of 1.5v; DDR3 memory with a low voltage of 1.35 arrived afterwards.
Thanks to the technology from Hynix, Cervoz now offers DDR3 DRAM modules that support dual voltage, 1.5v and 1.35v; customers do not have to worry if they purchase the unmatched voltage DRAM modules with their motherboards or systems. In addition OEM and system integrators do not have to keep two different modules in stock, they can simply use one model for all DDR3 platforms.
